On 21 October, APPLE TREE marks its annual Apple Day, a moment to reaffirm the agency’s long-term commitment to sustainability. This year, as part of its sustainability strategy, APPLE TREE has reached a significant milestone: 5,000 trees plantedin reforested areas across Spain.

The initiative, developed in partnership with Bosques Sostenibles, has contributed to reforestation efforts in Ávila, the Montgrí mountains in Catalonia and Asturias, helping restore areas affected by environmental degradation and wildfires.

Carme Miró, CEO and Founder of APPLE TREE, explains:
“As a B Corp, our purpose is to ensure that our work has a direct and positive impact on our environment. That’s why we’ve committed to the challenging task of reforesting our forests alongside Bosques Sostenibles. These ecosystems are essential for biodiversity and for improving environmental health.”

The urgency of this commitment is clear. According to the European Forest Fire Information System (EFFIS), 344,000 hectares had already burned by August this year, making it the worst year for forest fires in Spain so far this century, surpassing the record set in 2022. Regions such as Galicia, Extremadura and Castile and León have been particularly affected.

From the outset, APPLE TREE’s purpose and values have shaped its sustainability strategy, with a focus on environmental sustainability and gender equality. The agency seeks to extend this commitment beyond its own teams, involving clients, suppliers and partners so that sustainability becomes a shared objective. Its approach is based on engaging all stakeholders, both internal and external, in a personal and authentic way.

Beyond environmental sustainability

Gender equality is a key pillar of APPLE TREE’s sustainability goals. The agency supports three girls’ youth football teams through sponsorships: CFF Olympia Las Rozas in Madrid, Women Soccer School in Barcelona and CE Seagull BDN in Badalona. This support combines financial backing with communications and marketing advice, as well as pro bono initiatives.

In collaboration with Women Soccer School, APPLE TREE also provides direct financial support to five girls from low-income families in Badalona through the Cap nena en fora de joc (“No girl left offside”) programme. The initiative offers scholarships to ensure that any girl who wants to play football can do so, regardless of her family’s financial situation.

Collaboration at the heart of the strategy

At APPLE TREE, sustainability is understood as a collective effort. The agency believes that meaningful progress towards a more sustainable society is only possible through collaboration. For this reason, it has strengthened partnerships with organisations such as the B Corp movement and the UN Global Compact, while also working closely with clients and partners to promote responsible practices.

This commitment is underpinned by a clear code of ethics and an ethics channel, helping ensure that high sustainability standards are applied not only within APPLE TREE, but across its wider ecosystem.
