APPLE TREE, the strategic communications agency that applies NEW THINKING to help clients build brand relevance and deliver measurable business impact, has appointed Diego Naranjo as Account Director in the Lifestyle & Consumer team at its Madrid office. The appointment reinforces the agency’s commitment to developing internal talent and strengthening the strategic teams that drive its growth.

Diego holds a degree in Journalism from Rey Juan Carlos University and a postgraduate qualification in Corporate Communications Management from EAE Business School. He brings a multidisciplinary track record in strategic communications and public relations, having previously worked at sector-leading agencies including Marco, Ogilvy and Burson before joining APPLE TREE.

Since joining APPLE TREE, Diego has led communications projects for a diverse portfolio of national and international brands. His experience spans consumer brands including Mattel, Mahou, C&A, Choví, HONOR and TheFork; tourism organisations such as Parque Warner, VisitDubai and VisitFinland; pharmaceutical companies including Pfizer and Angelini; and the Spanish market launches of Dr. Wolff and Getir.

He has also managed and coordinated corporate communications, public affairs and internal communications projects for organisations including Pernod Ricard, Continental, EssilorLuxottica, CBRE and Alphabet. Alongside his agency career, Diego combines professional practice with academic research at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), where he has published scientific papers on communications.

Carme Miró, CEO and Founder of APPLE TREE, said: “Diego stands out for his strategic vision, his ability to build relevant narratives and his versatility across very different sectors. His progression within APPLE TREE reflects the restless, creative and committed talent that drives our way of understanding communications.”

On his appointment, Diego Naranjo said: “APPLE TREE has taught me that a good idea is only the beginning; what really matters is how you grow it until it matters. That is the value of working alongside teams and clients who constantly question, build and push each other to do things differently, with talent, curiosity and ambition. I begin this new chapter with great enthusiasm to keep growing at an agency that understands communications is not about making noise, but about making something matter.”

With this appointment, APPLE TREE continues to consolidate its position as the leading agency in the market. Earlier this year, APPLE TREE was named 2026 European Agency of the Year at the SABRE Awards, held in London in May, by a jury of senior communications professionals from more than 40 countries.

APPLE TREE was also named Communications Consultancy of the Year in Spain in the PR Scope 2025/26 study and ranked as the country’s highest-rated communications agency by industry professionals. In addition, the agency has been recognised as one of the Best Agencies to Work For for more than a decade, a distinction that reflects the excellence of its people and the strength of its unique culture.
