APPLE TREE is an agency that was founded with a commitment to equality. All of us at APPLE TREE have always believed in fair and equal treatment between women and men. To achieve this, we have had to ‘fight’ for fundamental rights, and in this commitment, we have always gone a step further – with courage and a lot of creativity – what we call NEW THINKING.
This is how the first ‘MATROCINIO’ in history was born, which consists of supporting initiatives led by women. Two years ago, following this strategy of support and visibility in areas where women are less represented, APPLE TREE has extended its matrocinios to the playing field.
At APPLE TREE, we could not accept that professional female footballers in Spain are paid less than men according to the labor agreement or that the prizes in competitions are significantly lower. We had to do something to change the future for young female footballers.
Thus, APPLE TREE financially supports three girls’ football teams (CFF Olympia Las Rozas in Madrid, Women’s Soccer School in Barcelona and CE Seagull BDN in Badalona) through its sponsorships.
Furthermore, in our effort to make the role of women footballers more visible, we decided to create the ‘Stars For Equality’ campaign, in collaboration with CFF Olympia Las Rozas, with which we wanted to denounce the situation of inequality and vulnerability that female athletes continue to suffer. This campaign has crossed borders and has become a tribute of respect and admiration for all women athletes.
