APPLE TREE’s purpose and values have been an intrinsic part of the company since its inception and mark its sustainability strategy – focused on environmental sustainability and gender equality. For this reason, the communication agency wants to go a step further in this commitment and make these objectives shared not only with its collaborators, but also with its clients, suppliers, and other agents with whom it has a relationship. Thus, the strategic communications agency has presented ‘We believe in goodness’, the company’s new sustainability strategy focused on involving all its audiences – both internal and external – in this strategy in a personal and more authentic way.
APPLE TREE has set gender equality as a sustainability goal. To this end, the agency financially supports 3 girls’ soccer teams (CFF Olympia Las Rozas in Madrid, Women Soccer School in Barcelona, and CE Seagull BDN in Badalona) with its sponsorship. This support is materialized both in financial support, as well as in communication and marketing advice to clubs and pro-bono actions. As part of this commitment, the agency works hand in hand with the Women Soccer School to provide direct financial support to five girls with limited resources in Badalona through the support program ‘Cap nena en fora de joc’, which consists of a series of scholarships ensuring that any girl who wants to play soccer can do so, regardless of her family’s financial resources.
In this effort to celebrate the company’s values and progress in sustainability, APPE TREE has recently held its Goodness Day, a moment where all the agency’s employees experienced firsthand the progress in sustainability and the company’s values. This year, more than 160 collaborators of the agency visited the facilities of the soccer teams in Madrid and Barcelona, learning directly about the work that these clubs do to support girls who aspire to play soccer.
Collaboration as the Core of the Sustainability Strategy
APPLE TREE understands that collaboration is essential to transforming society toward a more sustainable model. For this reason, the agency has strengthened its alliances with key agents of change, such as the B Corp movement, the UN Global Compact, and, more recently, the sustainability agency R4S. Additionally, APPLE TREE works closely with its clients and collaborators through control systems and adherence to sustainable practices. These efforts ensure that not only the company meets the highest sustainability standards, but also its entire ecosystem, supported by a code of ethics and the introduction of an ethical channel.
